Can we have devout religious people as political leaders?

Our secular world is deeply anti-religion. We religious people are such poor, unheard, victims. Some people don’t even think we should have bishops in the Lords as of right, or control half the schools, or have dedicated, uninterrupted slots in the middle of news programmes. Yes, things have really got that bad.

Most of our political leaders still claim to have some religious belief. But proper ones, who speak out honestly about how wrong gayness is, get shouted down at every opportunity. We need to allow blatant homophobes to be heard without people objecting all the time. Thank goodness TFTD doesn’t allow anyone to object.
