Steven Weinberg is Dead

Another one of my heroes is gone. This Nobel prize winning physicist was one of the greatest of his, or any other, generation. Together with Sheldon Glashow and Abdus Salam (whose exile from Pakistan because he was “the wrong type of Muslim” is an eternal shame on that country), he united the electromagnetic and weak nuclear forces. One of the great scientific triumphs of all time.

And of course, he is also famous for that quote. “All over the world there are good people doing good things and bad people doing bad things. To make good people do bad things, that takes religion.”

Rabbi Jonathan Wittenberg, Senior Rabbi of Masorti Judaism

Dr Abbas Khan was murdered by the regime in Aleppo for providing medical aid to all. This inspired a young boy, Karim al-Jian, to study medicine himself. He paid tribute to Abbas Khan when he too graduated in medicine.

There’s just so much Invisible Magic Friend stuff to talk about in this. About how much he loves us, espcially murdered doctors trying to save lives.
