Steven Weinberg is Dead

Another one of my heroes is gone. This Nobel prize winning physicist was one of the greatest of his, or any other, generation. Together with Sheldon Glashow and Abdus Salam (whose exile from Pakistan because he was “the wrong type of Muslim” is an eternal shame on that country), he united the electromagnetic and weak nuclear forces. One of the great scientific triumphs of all time.

And of course, he is also famous for that quote. “All over the world there are good people doing good things and bad people doing bad things. To make good people do bad things, that takes religion.”

And in the Big News today from a Faith Perspective… well… there is no news today. Instead, let me just waffle on about Sikh funeral rights, a thing I founded, our belief in an Invisible Magic Friend, me etc.
