Christians get persecuted a lot, but we Sikhs get persecuted just as much as they do.
This persecution takes place at the hands of religions that don’t understand their religion properly. Their leaders haven’t attended anywhere near enough inter-faith buffets, with those nice little cucumber sandwiches, cut into triangles and with the crusts removed.
As a member of a persecuted religious minority, I am very much in favour of tolerance and freedom of religion. Just you wait ’till we’re in charge.
Fearsomely Revd Nicholas Baines, Bishop of Leeds, West Yorkshire, the Dales and any other bits that can’t afford their own bishop any more
As we all try to deal with the excitement of a royal baby and get back to normal life, I’d like to talk about tradition, which the royal couple have decided, in their wisdom, to not follow in some sort of unspecified way.
I think we’d all agree that tradition is a thoroughly Good Thing. Traditions like the Church of England for example. Rooted in the wisdom of our ancestors, traditions, like the Church of England for example, guide us through the complexities of modern life.

“There are a growing number of Muslim voices who want to tell a different story: of being Muslim and gay. These are brave voices…”

How do we deal with dementia?
We need our spiritual consciousness, our spiritual memory, our spiritual persona, our spiritual identity. But we musn’t use our social spirituality.
More of the right sort of spirituality means less dementia. The evidence is me telling you this. Trust me, I’m a doctor.
