Alexei Navalny was a courageous and outspoken critic of Vladimir Putin. Navalny was a former atheist who discovered that Christianity was the correct belief. All Christians can therefore share in the credit for his achievement. It was his Christianity that gave him the courage and wisdom to stand up to Putin, a former atheist who discovered that Christianity was the correct belief.

Platitude of the Day 
As the Rev Dr Peter reminds us (but as David Wilkinson didn’t), Putin also claims to be a Christian, and to be fighting for the Christian soul of his country. Christians can do both good and evil. Who knew?
Would Wilkinson still be praising Navalny’s courage if he had become an outspoken atheist instead of a Christian? If so, why? If not, why not?

Putin is probably as much as a christian as Donald Trump is.
I was struck that Navalny has now been dead for three days but no one has seen his body. As he is apparently a born again christian, is God about to let him be reincarnated, garner a large number of disciples around the world and create a new religion?
