Quantum Mechanics is Obvious – the Movie Part 12

So we’ve shown how probabilities can be expressed as vectors, how different random variables can be encoded in the same vector space, how you can rotate between them, how this gives rise to uncertainty and interference, why we need complex numbers, and how the whole thing translates into continuous distributions.

With all that done, we can finally move on to Quantum Mechanics. Here’s a short taster that derives the Schrödinger equation.

I was going to explore a little bit more of QM itself, but I think that’s probably best left to the experts. This has been fun. I might do some more physics videos in the future.

And in the Big News today from a Faith Perspective, there’s an exhibition of an artist that includes the picture of a Catholic martyr. This is what people are really interested in, what makes a really good Catholic martyr? Everybody’s talking about it.

First, they must be Catholic, not one of these other, wrong, religions. They’re not proper martyrs at all. Second, being a good Catholic martyr means being good, according to whatever counted as good at the time they were good.

I’m an expert on good Catholic martyrs, so I know what I’m talking about. I hope that’s satisfied your curiosity about the subject because there’s really not much else in the news today.
