Children who began school during lockdown have their own in-jokes. Six-Seven, with palms held up, is one of them. It is little more than a meaningless ritual. Why children bother with meaningless rituals is beyond me. We Christians never waste our time on meaningless rituals.

Akhandadhi Das, a Vaishnav Hindu teacher and theologian

And in the Big News today from a Faith Perspective, there’s a Big Hindu Festival today. Happy Diwali everybody! This is exactly the same as the No Kings protest in the USA, except it’s exactly the opposite.

[…edit. Sorry, dozed off a bit in the middle…]

And in conclusion, if we all did what the Hindu Big Book of Magic Stuff said, then the world would be as happy as India is today.

Amazingly Reverend Doctor Lord David Walker, Bishop of Manchester

And in the Big News today from a Faith Perspective, the King and the Pope will pray together. This is incredibly important. Imagine that, a western Christian from the Roman Catholic Church and a Western Christan from the Anglican Church, who believe ever so slightly different things, talking to their respective Invisible Magic Friends, in the same room at the same time. Isn’t that just amazing?

I’ve even prayed with a Muslim. Someone from a completely different branch of the Abrahamic faith.

You could almost believe that we were all just human beings and, if only we could put our beliefs aside we could see each other for who we were. Of course that’s impossible because all these other faiths are completely wrong and they’ll burn in hell for all eternity.

Preposterously Reverend Lord Professor Bishop Baron Lord Richard Harries, Baron Pentregarth, Gresham Professor of Divinity, Baron, Bishop, Professor, Lord…

And in the Big News today from a Faith Perspective, there’s no hope. No one believes in progress any more. Everything’s just rubbish and getting worse. Yes there’s science but noboby cares about that and it was disproved by World War 1.

Fortunately there’s Christianity. We’ve never believed in progress. In fact, we’ve done everything in our power for 2,000 years to prevent it. So if you don’t believe in progress any more then have we got a religion for you!
