Ex-Rev Canon Angela Tilby, Christ Church Cathedral Oxford

And in the Big News today from a Faith Perspective, there’s a Big Christian Festival today. Happy Michaelmas everybody! Yes, it’s time to celebrate angels, who worship the Invisible Magic Friend, send messages for him (he isn’t on social media), and protect us mortals badly.

You may have seen paintings of angels as cherubs, or tall, blond haired men with white wings. That’s all complete nonsense. Angels are actually purely spiritual beings, led by Michael, the top angel. Trust me on this. As an ex-Rev I’ve studied invisible magic beings thoroughly.

Science fiction tells us that black holes allow time travel and provide port holes into other universes. That every atom is connected to every other. That leaves turn brown in autumn. That there are stars. Thus, science confirms the existence of angels.

There is no other news today.

Scientists have used gene therapy to cure Huntingdon’s disease. Isn’t science great. Some people, no names, like to say science is rubbish, but I’m not one of them.

In the meantime, for those with other incurable diseases, there’s religion. The Invisible Magic Friend put diseases there so that he could comfort you when you get them. He may even cure you at random, although he may also decide not to.
