There’s been a defence review, where we try to guess our future military needs. But the future remains uncertain. In my own case, unexpected brain and heart surgery confused my plans, although confirming that I did indeed have a both a brain and a heart.
The Big Book of Magic Stuff tells us that we mustn’t base our plans on fantasies. Our decisions must be rooted in reality.
The only true certainty is uncertainty.
