The murder of women, particularly in domestic situations, is so routine that it scarcely even counts as news. Yet this is just one extreme of a whole range of misogyny that is part of a toxic macho culture.

Some of this can be attributed to the Christian tradition of portraying Eve, and all women, as temptresses ready to deceive pure, innocent, young men. But Jesus, and his twelve male apostles, all agreed that patriarchy and male privilege was wrong and should never be part of the church. Although for some reason it always has been.
