And in the Big News today from a Faith Perspective, Happy Nearly Birthday of Van Gogh.

Van Gogh painted a picture of Mary and Jesus, with Jesus having red hair and a beard like himself, whereas everybody knows that Jesus had the tradition middle eastern appearance of blond hair and blue eyes.

Jesus suffered mentally, just like Van Gogh. Although he didn’t chop his own ear off. Peter chopped someone’s ear off, but Jesus stuck it back on again. Which just goes to show how tremendously holy and significant the chopping off of ears is in Holy Week.

There isn’t really any news worth commenting on today.

Scintillatingly Rev and non-female Philip North, Bishop of Blackburn and not Bishop of Burnley or Sheffield

Richard Taylor, the father of Damilola Taylor, has died. He worked hard to find justice and fight knife crime. Despite the tragedy of his son’s murder, he consistently promoted a message of love and hope.

This is exactly like Jesus. Proving, once again, that there is no tragedy out of bounds, no depths to which Thought For The Day will not stoop, when it comes to plugging religion.

Rev Dr Rob Marshall, Priest at St John the Evangelist, Welwyn Garden City

And in the Big News today from a Faith Perspective, Happy Nearly Palm Sunday everybody! The Temporarily Visible Third of the Invisible Magic Friend rode into Jerusalem on a donkey. This definitely happened because the Big Book of Magic Stuff says so and the Big Book of Magic Stuff never lies. Well hardly ever.

There’s nothing else worth talking about in the news today.
