Today’s guest editor chose a prayer for me. This is brilliant. Normally I wouldn’t mention the Invisible Magic Friend, Christianity, the Apostles, a theologian, St Paul, and how we’re the only people with courage, perseverance and hope. But today I can quite legitimately do it. So take that all you people who criticise the Thought For the Day slot for having nothing to do with the news.

Now Actually Rev Hannah Malcolm, project co-ordinator at God and the Big Bang, 2019 Theology Slam winner

And in the Big News today from a Faith Perspective, the latest series of Planet Earth was on the telly. This is about humans who know the names of animals. Naming animals was invented by Christians.

But some Christians in the past thought that we named things so as to dominate them. These foolish, ignorant Christians, who were not as enlightened and wise as we modern, correct, Christians, interpreted the eternal and unchanging word of the Invisible Magic Friend completely wrongly. There are no creationist, fundamentalist, totalitarian Christians any more. At least, not at the BBC.
