Dr Rachel Mann

We, and by “we” I do of course mean you, are a bunch of forgotten, irrelevant, useless nobodies. Like a medieval sex worker. But the Invisible Magic Friend loves you, even if nobody else does.

  1. Thanks Graham; an interesting read, and some vivid accounts. Most of the incidents recorded seem to be knife crimes, so not much change there. Interesting also that the task of dealing with them belonged firmly to the civil authorities. No doubt the clergy had better things to do.

Given that Christians are usually keen to assure us that the Invisible Magic Friend keeps a close eye on each and every one of us, and guarantees us a place in Paradise for all eternity if we keep our noses clean, I thought there was a slight air of desperation in Rachel Mann’s Thought this morning. It was almost as if she was worried, deep down, that once she’s dead and buried she really will be on the way to being forgotten. But then, like the rest of us, she won’t be around to find out, will she? Join the club!
