And in the Big News today from a Faith Perspective, wasn’t the 1986 film “Clockwise” brilliant. One of the lines includes the word “hope”. Which brings me to Advent, Christianity, hope, dreaming.

Hope may seem futile with the unremittingly awful state of things today. But Jesus. Now that’s some realistic hope.

There is no other news today.

Consternatingly Rev Dr Gulnar Eleanor Francis-Dehqani, Bishop of Chelmsford

I’ll bet you no one has ever drawn a comparison between football and religion. I’m so excited about this. This is going to be so original. No one, absolutely no one, ever, on Thought for the Day, has ever thought to compare the tribal loyalty of football with religion. And they certainly can’t complain that we don’t treat the news seriously. Thirty seconds’ mention of football, followed by 3 minutes about Jesus. It’s just perfect. Wait ’till the listeners hear this.
