And in the Big News today from a Faith Perspective, it’s nearly Christmas. There will be family troubles and these are caused by our genes, which were given to us by our ancestors who got them from Adam and Eve, who got them from our Invisible Magic Friend. (Quick bit of science for all you geeks out there.) So all your defects are really your ancestors’ fault, although not the Invisible Magic Friend’s fault in any way at all.

Jesus had ancestors too. There’s a couple of different versions to choose from in the gospels, with generation after generation of begatting, ending with Joseph, who wasn’t the father of Christ. Jesus turned out OK, although maybe that was because he didn’t have any ancestors on his father’s side.
