Rev Dr Stephen Cherry, Dean King’s College Cambridge

And in the Big News today from a Faith Perspective, I’ve been to France, in July, looking for the grave of a friend of a predecessor, who invented the Christmas service from King’s, which will be on the radio this afternoon.

It’s a really good service and we all wear our very best dresses. Of course you won’t be able to see this on the radio, but trust me they’re all very clean. We will celebrate the birth of the Prince of Peace and the end of World War I.

There’ll be some tears, which unlike secular tears are genuine tears, even though we don’t believe that anyone is really dead (that’s a quick bit of Christian theology for you). It’s a “deep spiritual connection with life’s most difficult realities.”
