And in the Big News today from a Faith Perspective, I’ve been to the rubbish tip. I’ve been getting rid of all the useless rubbish that’s way past its time and serves no useful purpose whatsoever. It’s all just idle clutter that gets in the way.
This is exactly like Jesus.

I thought Easter was last week. Did Brook write this one in case he was asked in over Easter and didn’t want to waste it?
I take stuff to the tip when it is no longer any use. I mentally did the same when an early teenager with Christianity.

Brilliant summary there Rev Peter.

All absolutely spot on above.
Classic pious humblebragging, where the colossal lack of a sense of irony really led with its chin.

I don’t think this extended clunking metaphor worked quite as well as Rhid probably thinks it did.
For a start, what’s he doing taking stuff to the tip that he bought only recently? And a really committed recycler would find all sorts of ways of putting things to new use by himself, not relying on others to do it for him. Some of the articles he described would probably find a better home in a charity shop.
Rhid’s actions may make him feel better, but “For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, but lose his soul?” Is Rhid sure he hasn’t left his soul at the tip while hanging on to all his other false illusions?
