Akhandadi Das’s little thought experiment bears a passing resemblance to the Trolley Problem as an exercise in ethical dilemmas: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trolley_problem It doesn’t really have much to do with religion, although it does show that religion often has little or no relevance to the real world. Quelle surprise!

    Deciding that you have a set of unbreakable principles before considering their practical implications is a recipe for disappointment. I rather like the saying attributed to Groucho Marx: “These are my principles. If you don’t like them I have others”.
