And in the Big News today from a Faith Perspective, isn’t Wythenshawe just brilliant, especially the church named after a Bishop of Manchester.

Went to a comprehensive school in Wythenshawe.
No happy memories of the place

Went for an interview there once. Think it was with Ferranti. They were busy building 9 bit computers. They never caught on.

How heart-warming to learn that Wythenshawe is possessed of an admirable public spiritedness; and that people “of all faiths and backgrounds” happily join in. Why, I expect that even people without any religious beliefs might be allowed in to sweep the floor or something.
I wonder if any other cities, towns or villages might be found to be equally public-spirited. In fact, there is reason to believe that they’re pretty widespread. Just think: people throughout the country helping their neighbours, volunteering for the NHS, setting up local charities, contributing to foodbanks. And for the most part nobody knows or cares what faith they profess, if any, unless of course they insist on telling everyone. For some reason that tends to put a damper on the conversation.
