The Chief Rabbi Ephraim Mirvis

There’s a Big Jewish Festival coming up. Happy anniversary of the birth of the universe everyone!

As the new year begins, let us look on the bright side of the Invisible Magic Friend’s new virus.

  1. Several good ideas here that were all secular – the young boy in the story saying he is happy just to have a glass, that the one who is wealthy is the one who is happy with what he has got, etc.
But smack in the middle is the bit that made me laugh – we are having a festival to celebrate two people who he thinks really lived – Adam and Eve. If the BBC are going to allow fantasists to come on the radio in the morning and disturb my news programme pretending that myths really happened then don’t be surprised that I will come on here and point out that you don’t need the religious bit to lead a good life.
    Happy New Year.

The BBC does not simply allow. The BBC invites the great thinkers, thinkers who would have us believe they have direct conduits to their gods, and worse actually pays them.
